Williamstown is primed to hit the ground running in the new VFL season after a perfect three victories from three pre-season outings.
The triple treat was completed on Saturday when the Seagulls beat a strong Sandringham Zebras side by 22 points in front of their home fans at Burbank Oval.
Sam Dunell booted three goals for the Seagulls, with two each kicked by Anthony Anastasio, Jake Owen and Ayce Cordy.
The Seagulls will start their premiership defence in a clash with Richmond at Burbank Oval on Sunday at 2pm.
Footscray enters the season in red-hot form after a 131-point annihilation of Werribee Tigers in its final practice match, at the Whitten Oval on Saturday.
The Bulldogs produced 50 scoring shots, including a bag of seven goals to forward Bailey Dale and four each to Tom Campbell, Jack Redpath and Nick Jamieson.
The Bulldogs open the season against the Northern Blues on Sunday from 11am.
In the TAC Cup, the Western Jets crashed and burned in a second half-disaster, losing to the Eastern Ranges by 71 points at Ikon Park. The Jets led at quarter-time by two goals and there was only a kick in it at half-time. But the Ranges piled on 12 goals to two in the second half for a convincing win.
Wilson Berry, Jordyn Cotter and Brodie Romensky were the top performers for the Jets.
