West Welcome Wagon seeks warehouse

A group of volunteers helping asylum seekers in the community is raising funds to help manage a growing stream of donated goods.

West Welcome Wagon provides donated essentials such as food, clothing and furniture that have been collected and stored in the homes and sheds of volunteers.

Group founder Mia McGregor said the organisation needed a warehouse or some help renting one.

“We continue to be in awe at the generosity of the local community but we are in desperate need of a warehouse with an appropriate amount of floor space so we can streamline our collection operations,” she said.

“We are seeking generous benefactors who might rent a warehouse to us cheaply, or who might donate funds so we can find an appropriate site ourselves.”
