Shocking dash-cam crash footage involving a car and two motorbikes

Footage of a shocking smash involving a car and two motorbikes at Maribyrnong has been captured on dash-cam.

Ambulance Victoria took the two riders to Royal Melbourne hospital in stable conditions following Sunday’s incident on Raleigh Road near Navigator Street.

A man in his 40s suffered pelvic injuries and a man in his 30s has leg injuries as a result of the collision.

Witness Kate told 3AW her family was stopped in traffic while driving home from Highpoint when they saw the collision.

“I only saw the one rider and he was so high in the air above the big car that was next to us and when he landed I was just waited for him to start moving,” she said.

“In reality when it happened we were just staring for two seconds, processing what happened.”

John Eacott, president of the Victorian Motorcycle Council, told 3AW he hoped the footage could help spread the road safety message.

“This is part of our day to day living on motorcycles, having to look out for this sort of incident, look out for actions of this type by other road users,” he said.

“We have to look at the fact that road safety is a shared responsibility. I hope it can be used to emphasise to all road users to look out for each other… two people are now in hospital, hopefully will recover but they will be years in the recovery. For it to be captured so dramatically brings it home and I hope it emphasises to all road users to look out for each other.”
