Western future leaders lent a hand

Future leaders from the western suburbs are shooting for the stars as part of the Whitten Project.

The Western Bulldogs Football Club project provides year 9 and 10 students with a range of life and sport experiences to help build their leadership skills.

The Whitten Project is run in conjunction with western suburbs local councils as well as the AFL, Netball Victoria, SportsWest and the state government.

Netball Victoria has upped its involvement this year, helping female participant numbers soar from 28 last year to 42.

Guest presenters such as Melbourne Vixens vice-captain Geva Mentor, a Netball Victoria community engagement officer, share their insights into leadership and tackling the sort of challenges that help form community leaders.
