Altona Meadows armed carjacking: Trio identified by police

Police have identified three people wanted for questioning over a carjacking in Altona Meadows last month and are appealing for the public’s help in tracking them down.

As reported by Star Weekly, a man was car jacked at knifepoint at a Queen Street service station about 12.30am on April 18, before being driven to a secluded Altona car park and robbed.

Police have identified Anastasia Joannou, 27, of Meadow Heights, Tamara Oliver, 23, of Brookfield, and Mohamed Yusuf, 28, of Seddon, after a public appeal for help.

Warrants have been issued for their arrest.

Embona armed robbery task force investigators say a 36-year-old Werribee man was approached by a woman at the service station after filling his car with petrol.

The woman, who had distinctive blue/green hair, got out of a silver 2005 Holden Commodore with registration number WEP 669.

She started a conversation with him before climbing into his car and pulling a knife on him, demanding he drive to a secluded car park near Altona boat ramp.

The Commodore followed closely behind, with another woman at the wheel, and pulled up next to the man’s car when they arrived at the boat ramp.

Two men jumped out of the Commodore and took the victim’s car keys, mobile phone, wallet and coins. The victim was unhurt.

The four suspects then got back in the Commodore and drove away.

The terrified victim, who feared his assailants would return for his car, waited six hours before he managed to alert a passing motorist.

Police say Ms Joannou is believed to have had blue hair at the time of the car jacking. She is described as being of Southern European appearance, about 170 centimetres tall, with a thin build and brown eyes.

Ms Oliver is described as Caucasian, 170 centimetres tall, with long blonde/brown hair, solid build and blue eyes.

Mr Yusuf is described as African, about 170 centimetres tall, with a thin build and dark brown eyes.
