Grow an orchard

Free ‘grow your own orchard’ workshops are on August 21 and September 18, 10am-1pm, at Hobsons Bay Yacht Club.

Car boot sale

Hobsons Bay Men’s Shed is holding a car boot sale, 10am-3pm, on August 21 at 280 Queen Street, Altona (old EPA building). The shed’s technology group will be selling computers and parts, and a sausage sizzle will be also be held. Sites $10.

 

Fashion market

The Melbourne Frock Swap Fashion Market is happening again at Seaworks in Williamstown 10-4pm Sunday, August 28. The indoor market will be jam-packed with more than 80 stalls of bargain priced pre-loved woman’s fashion, including big brands and vintage, at 82 Nelson Place. Entry $2.

 

Community classes

Classes start soon at Yarraville Community Centre and will include cooking and art workshops.

Volunteers for elderly

The Multiple Sclerosis Community Visitors Scheme needs female volunteers to visit elderly female residents in an aged care centre in Newport.

Yoga for kids

Children’s yoga at Maidstone Community Centre involves learning yoga postures, breathing exercises, play and creative movement for school-aged children. From 4-5pm, Tuesdays; $60 per term or $8 per casual visit.

Westgate Diabetes support group meets 10am on the first Tuesday of the month at Altona Bowling Club.
