Hunt for three on the run

Police have identified three people wanted for questioning over a carjacking at Altona Meadows last month and are appealing for public help to track them down.

As reported by Star Weekly, a man was carjacked at knifepoint at a Queen Street service station about 12.30am on April 18, before being driven to a secluded Altona car park and robbed.

Police have identified Anastasia Joannou, 27, of Meadow Heights, Tamara Oliver, 23, of Brookfield, and Mohamed Yusuf, 28, of Seddon, after a public appeal for help.

Warrants have been issued for their arrest.

Embona armed robbery taskforce investigators say a 36-year-old Werribee man was approached by a woman at the service station after filling his car with petrol.

The woman, who had distinctive blue/green hair, got out of a silver 2005 Holden Commodore with registration plate WEP 669. She started a conversation before pulling a knife on him, demanding he drive to a secluded car park near Altona boat ramp.

The Commodore followed with another woman at the wheel and pulled up next to the man’s car when it arrived at the boat ramp. Two men jumped out of the Commodore and took the victim’s car keys, mobile phone and wallet.

The four suspects then drove away in the Commodore The victim feared his assailants would return and waited six hours before alerting a passerby.

Police say Joannou is believed to have had blue hair at the time of the carjacking. She is described as being of southern European appearance, about 170 centimetres tall, with a thin build and brown eyes.

Oliver is described as Caucasian, 170 centimetres tall, with long blonde-brown hair, a solid build and blue eyes. Yusuf is described as African, about 170 centimetres tall, a thin build and dark eyes. The fourth offender has not been identified.
