Fringe in five set

Footscray Historical Society is offering free workshops for History Week in October. The first session is for Footscray, West Footscray and Tottenham residents, 1.30-4pm Saturday, October 22. The second session is for Yarraville, Kingsville and Seddon residents, 1.30-4pm Sunday, October 23, at Ercildoune, 66 Napier Street, Footscray. Register early.

Pokies spotlight

Charity baseball game

The ‘Matty 64 Legacy’ charity baseball game will be held at Greenwich Reserve in Williamstown on September 24. The game is in honour of Matthew Lawry, who died after an asthma attack at age 34. His two old teams, Williamstown Wolves and Bendigo Scots, will play. The day will help raise funds for the Asthma Foundation, and to promote awareness of organ donation. RSVP, Mitchell Clement:

Pink breakfast

The Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand will hold its annual pink breakfast at the Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club in Williamstown on September 27. Proceeds will go to The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and National Breast Cancer Foundation. Inquiries and tickets to Marlene.
