Some of Australia’s best-loved musicians are coming to Footscray this weekend … leaving their instruments behind.
The Turn Up Your Radio exhibition at Trocadero Art Space features works by musicians who are also professional visual artists, including members of Ratcat, Dirty Three, Beaches, Dick Diver, Cosmic Psychos and Macromantics, and solo artists such as Darren Sylvester.
Curator Brendan Lee says many art exhibitions have music as a theme but this is the first he is aware of that brings together musicians who also create art.
“My two passions in life are art and music, especially Australian music and particularly contemporary Melbourne music,” he said.
Turn Up Your Radio opens 4-6pm Saturday and will be on show until April 25 at Trocadero Art Space, Level 1, 119 Hopkins Street, Footscray.
