Police have charged two more people following a series of armed robberies across the western suburbs.
Altona North Embona Armed Robbery Taskforce investigators arrested a 41-year-old Altona man on Tuesday and charged him with three counts of armed robbery. He was also charged with aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, assault-related offences and attempted carjacking following alleged incidents in Yarraville and West Footscray on April 30.
The man has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 13 July.
Police also arrested a 30-year-old Point Cook woman in Werribee yesterday and charged her with two counts of armed robbery. She faced an out of sessions hearing and was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
The arrests follow a spate of armed robberies where it’s alleged a man armed with a firearm robbed a number of stores in the Altona and Hoppers Crossing areas on April 18-19.
A 39-year-old Werribee man was previously arrested in April and charged with three counts of armed robbery. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on July 13.
