Eastona site ‘retained’
Hobsons Bay council has welcomed the state government’s decision to retain the former Eastona Park Primary School site. The council lobbied to retain the Collins Avenue school site in Altona North as population forecasts show a need for a future school. Four former school sites in Hobsons Bay – Altona Gate, Altona West, Eastona Park and Laverton – had been deemed surplus to the Education Department’s needs. The council bought the former Laverton Primary School land to be used for affordable housing and open space.
