Planting day

Help re-introduce beautiful wildflowers to Kororoit Creek. Plant and sow grasses and herbs to help create habitat for local wildlife. Enjoy a free sausage sizzle at the end of the day. Take a wildflower home to attract butterflies and pollinators to your garden. Bring along gloves and a water bottle and dress for the weather. On August 19 from 10am at Buckingham Reserve, 2a Buckingham Crescent, Sunshine West.

Council meets

The next meeting of Brimbank council will be held on Tuesday, August 21, from 7pm at the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre. The meeting will be open to the public.

Drumming workshop

The Sunshine Street Band is running a jam session – and everyone is invited. The band’s free drumming workshop at the

Elegy

Elegy is a lyrical, searing exploration of loss, displacement and longing for home. Based on interviews with refugee survivors, the performance builds tension around an intimate love for a best friend, flight, empty train stations and bomb-blasted towns. Elegy, written by Douglas Rintoul, will be performed by Gareth Reeves and directed by John Kachoyan. The show contains adult themes and is recommended for audiences over 16 years. School bookings available. On August 17 from 7.30pm at Bowery Theatre, 309c Main Road East, St Albans.
