Kingsville Primary School Community Fete returns

Expect a full day of fun fit for a king when one of the inner west’s biggest community events gets underway this Saturday.

Kingsville Primary School’s biennial Community Fete will feature a host of carnival rides alongside face-painting, cupcake decorating and sideshow alley games.

Kingsville Primary School principal Kathleen Ginnane said the popular fete, held every two years, brings the community together for a day of fun and entertainment.

“Students have been delivering invites in multiple languages to their neighbours to encourage everyone to join in the fun,” she said.

“We have so many exciting things planned for the day, including a number of workshops run by community service groups.”

Visitors can play kick-to-kick with Western Bulldogs players, try tennis with Tennis Australia and chat with Ambulance Victoria paramedics and SES volunteers.

There will be a petting zoo and silent disco, and stalls selling show bags, plants and produce.

Those working up an appetite will be spoilt for choice with everything from banh mi, barbecue and souvlaki to cakes, scones and pedal-powered smoothies.

All proceeds from the day will help fund equipment, resources and works for the school.

On the school grounds from 10am-5pm Saturday, October 20.
