Man held after pokies robberies

A man was arrested on Friday over a spate of 15 armed robberies at pokies venues including venues in Laverton,
St Albans and Keilor between December 7 and March 7. The 20-year- old Roxburgh Park man was charged with two counts of armed robbery.

Search on for missing boy

Police are seeking public help to find a missing 16-year-old boy from Laverton. Iharaira Campbell was last seen at his Kaye Crescent home on New Year’s Eve and in the CBD area on January3. He is Maori in appearance and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, black shorts and white socks.

Hit-run witnesses sought

Footscray police are seeking witnesses to a hit-run collision involving a car and cyclist in West Footscray last Tuesday. The 51-year-old male cycylist of Glenroy told police he was riding along Geelong Road approaching Somerville Road about 8am when a silver Mitsubishi Lancer turning left into a fast food restaurant knocked him from his bike. The cyclist said he landed on the car’s boot then hit the roadway. He was taken to hospital with back injuries while the driver continued driving through the restaurant carpark into Somerville Road without stopping.
