Altona Primary School centenary celebrations off to flying start

One hundred preps released as many balloons on Monday to mark the launch of Altona Primary School’s centenary celebrations.

Pupils simultaneously let go of 100 balloons in the school’s colours of purple and yellow to alert its community to the 100th anniversary milestone.

A week-long centenary celebration is planned for October 19 to 24. Images, memorabilia and stories are being collected from people whose families have been part of the school for generations.

These will be compiled and presented in a DVD and as a written history for students to use during the centennial year.

Anyone wanting to contribute to the centenary history can email  altonaprimarycentenary@altonaps.vic.edu.au or call 93982925.
