Emergency services are at the scene after a crane crashed onto a house in Yarraville.
Police say a house in Schild Street was being relocated about 1pm when the construction crane flipped over, falling onto a neighbouring home and causing “major structural damage”.
Two men who were working on the construction site were assessed at the scene by paramedics.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the pair are both in a stable condition with minor injuries.
About 20 Metropolitan Fire Brigade firefighters also responded to the incident.
“We responded with our heavy rescue appliance with specialist search and rescue operators on board,” a spokeswoman said.
Schild Street remains closed in both directions and is not expected to reopen until Thursday.
WorkSafe is investigating the incident, the latest in a string of incidents involving cranes in Melbourne over the past year.
About 300 residents were evacuated from their Richmond homes when wild winds caused a crane to blow backwards and threaten their properties last July.
A 48-year-old man died when a 1.5-tonne tub of concrete fell from a crane at a work site in Box Hill in September.
