IT’S A MUG’S GAME

As you may know, I’m a big fan of single-serve cakes and desserts made in coffee mugs. So when this sweet little recipe from a lady called Margaret landed in my inbox, I simply had to share it. It takes just two minutes and chances are you’ll already have most of the ingredients on hand.

Margaret says, “This recipe for a coffee cup brownie is a mug of heaven. It’s so simple and delicious that you will be having this little treat after dinner every night.”

COFFEE CUP BROWNIE

5 tablespoons plain flour

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1½ tablespoons butter, softened

3 tablespoons water

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pinch salt

Mix all ingredients into a large mug and put in microwave on high for one minute. Let it cool before eating.

PIZZA PERFECTION

Homemade pizzas are always well received, but getting the base nice and crispy in a regular oven can be a tricky business. With its dual heating elements, the Breville Crispy Crust stone-baked pizza oven reaches temperatures of 350 degrees Celsius, replicating traditional brick pizza ovens. The pizzas cook in as little as five minutes and there’s a special ‘keep warm’ setting to reheat any leftover slices. Priced about $169, it’s a great gadget to have on hand if you’re strapped for time or for ideas on what to feed the kids.
