New Homes: Designer style completes interior Gem package

The flowing lines and curvilinear forms of Gem Apartments at Waterline Place were designed by the architectural team at celebrated Elenberg Fraser as a nod to the “billowing sails of yachts catching the wind” and acknowledgement of Williamstown’s deep connection to Melbourne’s maritime history.

The result is a spectacular building set to welcome residents likely as soon as mid-year – and with a display suite now open for inspection.

Gem, named as a reference to Gem Pier which once welcomed boats returning to shore, has interiors also designed by Elenberg Fraser. The practice, with a clear vision of what they wanted to deliver, stated:

“In a world that tends towards generic, Gem is focused on the specific and bespoke. We’re interested in giving people genuine options to customise their home.”

This vision has given Gem full-length balconies and light-filled interiors, with walls of full-height windows in living rooms and bedrooms. Some apartments have a dual aspect, with views one way to the Port Phillip Bay and the other towards Williamstown’s streetscape.

Living at Gem means enjoying the luxury of space, with a range of floorplan options to meet lifestyle needs and maintain uniqueness.

Elegant materials and a rich textural palette have been employed in every room, with impeccable detailing such as the use of stone and customised fixtures and fittings.

In a unique and exciting collaboration, premium furniture and interior design brand Coco Republic is partnering with AVJennings to custom dress the luxury apartments, with $30,000 worth of bespoke designer furniture given to new purchasers – available only for a limited time.

Kitchen are impressive in size and style, catering for daily use and equal weight given to entertainment. Each has high-end appliances and expansive benches, and butler’s pantries are on selected floorplans.

Some main bedroom suites feature an additional walk-through room by the bedroom, and a wardrobe which can be tailored with bespoke storage. The bathrooms are private sanctuaries, with chic herringbone-patterned tiling and intelligent storage; dual basins and large tub are options.

Gem’s generous terraces, making the most of Williamstown’s famed outdoor lifestyle, come with greenery-filled planter boxes.

Indoor life at Gem promises luxury and comfort, but its location signals an abundant outdoor life as well. Just about everything alluring about Williamstown is on the doorstep: beach, trendy dining, top schools, train, bus and shopping. And all this is just nine kilometres from the city.
