Footscray: Final days for black spot as bike signals are switched on

New bike priority signals will soon be switched on at Footscray’s Parker and Whitehall streets.

The installation of the signals was part of the state government’s $1.8 million election spending package to improve safety.

Greens MP for the western suburbs Colleen Hartland said better safety would encourage cyclists.

“It’s taken a few years of campaigning with the cycling community to get this bike black spot fixed, so I’m very happy,” she said.
