A surprise visit to a Yarraville learning hub for people with disability has fired up the imagination of participants.

Peter Karlovic, practice leader at annecto David House Learning Hub, said the Metropolitan Fire Brigade visit was about showcasing the brigade to create more awareness about the role it plays.

“We had all of our David House participants included, and many had awesome photos with the firefighters and the equipment on display,” he said.

“The firemen answered questions, displayed how the equipment worked, explained their role, mingled with our participants and shared stories.”

The visit was inspired by a client with such affinity with the MFB that he had been known to set off the fire alarm just so it could attend.
