Great family location: 54 Verdon Street, Williamstown 3016

This solid residence from a few decades back perches in a wide, tree-lined street in a fantastic locale that will put new owners on the doorstep of what makes Willy such a great place to live.

54 Verdon Street, Williamstown 3016

Well-regarded Williamstown High School is a three minute walk around the corner, the station is two minutes farther, and Nelson Place eateries and The Strand waterfront can be reached in 10 by foot.

Stroll five minutes through Dennis Reserve to Ferguson Street for weekend brunches, head to Porters on Nelson place for a relaxed lunch, take a three-minute zip in the car to The Strand restaurant for snapping-fresh seafood for dinner – or check out many more in the neighbourhood. There’s even a major supermarket three minutes drive away, so with all this it’s clearly a big tick for location.

The well-kept house is all about family, with a very large carpeted living room up top (with a glass slider to the front balcony) that’s ideal for the pell-mell of kids’ play, as well as getting all together for a movie.

Three of the four fitted bedrooms cluster around this room, as does a shared bathroom. A downstairs bedroom neighbours another bathroom, both retaining original features – as does the rest of the house.

Immediately behind the front door, there’s a dining area and the kitchen which has the peachy tones popular back in the day, accompanied by a small brekkie bench and a stainless-steel cooker.

The stairway (with storage beneath) and the laundry are tucked behind the kitchen.

Out back, on the block of about 225 square metres, there’s a deck with slatted pergola, a wedge of lawn and a garden shed.
