A Williamstown man has been charged with stealing a number of items including about $10,000 worth of wine belonging to a high-end Yarraville restaurant.
About 260 bottles of wine were stolen from the storeroom beneath Navi restaurant on Gamon Street about 5am on August 5, along with thousands of dollars of items from storage cages in the building including a box trailer, power tools, surfboards and snowboarding equipment.
Investigators released CCTV stills of a man that they believed may be able to assist with their enquiries.
Detectives from Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit have now charged a man following the alleged burglaries.
Police executed search warrants on Wednesday at a house in Williamstown and a business in Altona North.
Senior Constable Alistair Parsons said a 37-year-old Williamstown man was arrested and interviewed by police.
He has since been charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 1
