Twelve people in Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as the number of cases across Victoria reached 520 as at Thursday.
Department of Health and Human Services figures show seven known coronavirus cases in Hobsons Bay and five in Maribyrnong.
In surrounding municipalities, there are 14 confirmed cases in Wyndham, 13 in Moonee Valley, 12 in Brimbank, 10 in Hume and 25 in Port Phillip.
The city of Melbourne has 32 people diagnosed with the virus, while Stonnington is the municipality with the most cases numbering 57 followed by Mornington Peninsula with 36.
Three people have died from the virus in Victoria, taking Australia’s death toll to 13.
Two men aged in their 70s, died in Melbourne hospitals overnight on Wednesday.
Victoria’s chief health officer Brett Sutton on Thursday announced a third death, also a man in his 70s.
Dr Sutton said there were nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Victoria that may have been acquired through community transmission.
He said 14 people were in hospital, including three patients in intensive care.
One hundred and forty-nine people have recovered, while more than 26,900 Victorians have been tested to date.
“We’re doing everything we can to save lives and slow the spread of this deadly virus, but we all have a role to play to protect those who are most vulnerable,” Dr Sutton said.
“I can’t be clearer; if you can stay at home, you must stay at home.”
