Season for giving

Williamstown Church of Christ is holding Community Christmas and Craft with Heart on Saturday from 10am-2pm, with live music, Devonshire teas, bouncing castle, sausage sizzle and youth space. People are invited to bring a gift for an asylum seeker child. The event, at the corner of Douglas Parade and John Street, Williamstown, is being held with refugee support group West Welcome Wagon.

Discover sailing

Royal Yacht Club of Victoria at 120 Nelson Place, Williamstown, will hold a discover sailing day on Sunday from 11am-3pm in conjunction with Rotary’s Christmas fair.

Open studios

Maribyrnong artists will open their studios to the public for free during the Maribyrnong open studios weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm at Footscray, West Footscray, Yarraville, Seddon and Maidstone.

Do you worry about the way you eat? Overeaters Anonymous may have the answer for you. The group meets Tuesdays at 7.30pm, Jubilee Centre, Sacred Heart Church, 9 Newcastle Street, Newport.

Learn T-shirt printing

Are you 14 to 20, living in the west and wanting to learn T-shirt design and screen-printing? The last free session for the year will be held at Woods Street Arts Space, 44 Woods Street, Laverton, from 2-5pm on Saturday. Free food and drinks provided.

Christmas lights

Welcome Christmas by turning on a Christmas tree light from 6.30-8.30pm on Friday at Maribyrnong Town Hall, corner Hyde and Nicholson streets, Footscray. Festivities include children’s activities, entertainment and a craft market.

Footscray festival

Footscray City Primary School will hold the Footscray City Festival on Saturday from 9am-3pm. Featuring live music, a jumping castle, and food, craft and pre-loved treasure stalls, the festival is at 10 Hyde Street, Footscray.

Cosi show

West Independent Theatre presents Cosi by Louis Nowra until December 6 at Bluestone Church Arts Space, 10A Hyde Street, Footscray. Tickets are $25-$38.

Watercolour exhibition
