Man on murder charge
A man has been charged with murdering his father in Yarraville. George Pedevski, 49, of West Melbourne, was on Monday charged with one count of murder after the body of his 79-year-old father was found in the backyard of a Fehon Street house about 2pm on Sunday. Pedevski was remanded in custody to return to the Melbourne Magistrates Court in February.
Crash victim dies
A Footscray man died in hospital on Sunday, 10 days after being trapped in his car for more than three hours in a five-vehicle crash on the Princes Freeway at Point Cook. The 54-year-old’s car was rear-ended by a truck while sitting in traffic near the Forsyth Road exit, pushing his vehicle into a second truck. Police raid bikie clubhouse
Police seized a large amount of alcohol during a raid on the clubhouse of an outlaw motorcycle gang at Williamstown. Echo taskforce detectives executed a warrant at the headquarters of the Comancheros about 1pm on Saturday. Sergeant Kris Hamilton said the bikie gang was being investigated for liquor licensing breaches. No one was arrested during the raid. The investigation is continuing.
