A pizza called Best in the West has been created for the Art and Industry Festival.
It’s part of an event dubbed ‘Our Secret West’ – a map leading the way to seven food outlets to encourage people to enjoy a local takeaway meal while watching the festival from home.
The map shows Baltyk Deli at Laverton, Seabrook Fish and Chips, The Pizza Box and Fish and Chips on Civic at Altona, Basil and Co at Newport and Off the Pier fish and chippery and 3 GRAINS Pizza at Williamstown.
Artisan pizza maker, 3 GRAINS Pizza, has produced a special pizza for the event called Best in the West.
The sweet and spicy November special is topped with sauce, mozzarella, hot salami, pineapple, rocket and balsamic glaze.
Festival director Donna Jackson said “the creation of food can be an art form”.
“In the west, we are blessed with some great delis, pizza crafts-makers and secret recipes for crisp batter on our fish and chips.
“We hope you will buy some takeaway during the festival and watch our online fashion and concert events while consuming some specially selected foods from the places that are secretly our favorite food creators.”
At the festival’s epicentre is the Song Series Concert, on Friday, November 27, from 8-9.30pm, featuring original pieces from acclaimed singer songwriters including Mark Seymour (Hunters and Collectors), Rusty Berther (ex-Scared Weird Little Guys), Jane Bayley (Crying In Public Places), country and western star Sherry Rich and Peter Farnan (Boom Crash Opera).
The festival runs until November 29.
