Dynon Road closed after power pole fire

A high-voltage power pole has burst into flames at West Melbourne on Tuesday morning, shutting down part of Dynon Road.

The pole on Dynon Road caught fire about 6.50am.

The power company is on scene and working with Fire Rescue Victoria to rectify the problem.

Dynon Road is closed in both directions between Lloyd Street and Kensington Road.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use Footscray Road instead.

Residents may experience power outages.
