The Southbank man, 48, is charged with assaulting a police officer causing injury, affray, riotous behaviour and breaching the Chief Health Officer directions.

A Footscray woman, 24, was interviewed on Sunday in relation to discharging a missile, riotous behaviour and breaching the Chief Health Officer directions.

She was released and is expected to be charged on summons to appear at court at a later date.

Police have identified a male who was sought in relation to the release of a flare at the protest.

Detectives thanked the public for their assistance.

The investigation is ongoing.
