Spring zing

Spring has come and it’s time for a bedroom refreshment.

Decorating the house in the spirit of the coming season will create a wonderful atmosphere in your home.

This is the place where you can seek solace, rest, renew your energy, start and quit everyday obligations so it should be a place where you can “breath out”.

Flowers are are a must to complete the spring look of your bedroom, whether in a vase on the nightstand or in a natural floral pattern on curtains, walls or a bedspread. A combination of them all is a good idea, too.

Citrus colours like yellow, tangerine and limes in the form of throws and cushions will add a freshness to your pallette and complement neutral bases in the bedroom.

Bright accessories and interesting fabrics and textures as well vivid colors are also on trend for Spring.

Updating the bedroom can be easily achieved through a few simple design updates. Clever colour selections and complementing surrounding furniture and furnishings can transform a dull and uninviting space into a bedroom sanctuary.

Bedroom makeover tips:

• Bring the outdoors inside with fresh plants, open windows and plenty of light.

• Consider clever storage solutions which maximise space.

• When choosing colour, consider tones that make you feel comfortable and complement bed linen, carpets, curtains and soft furnishings.

• Introduce an accent wall behind the bed for a feature.

• Consider the bed linen theming you have chosen. You can highlight some colours from your linen to tie in the whole setting together.

• Accessorising with pillows and throws is a great way to introduce bursts of colour.
