Father and daughter duo voice their musical talents

Father and daughter Tim and Caitlin Rizzoli say they are “over the moon” after winning the grand finale of The Voice Generations.

The talented duo placed first on the Channel Seven show in an episode that aired on February 2.

Tim, who describes himself as “born and bred” in Werribee, now lives in Point Cook, while Caitlin is a Williamstown resident.

Both Caitlin and Tim are well-known within Werribee from their years of regular performances – as individuals – at The Park hotel.

Tim also plays gigs at The Views Bar and Grill in Werribee South, the Steam Packet Hotel in Williamstown and venues across Altona.

Tim said it was the suggestion of Caitlin, 23, that they audition for The Voice Generations.

“Performing on the stage was amazing, a bit of a ‘pinch me’ moment,” Caitlin added.

“I think performing on the show as well, we really got to show our bond and connection as father and daughter.”

Tim said he would like to thank everyone from Wyndham who has supported them throughout their journey on The Voice Generations.

He woke up to 165 text messages on AFL grand final day, after the final episode.

“The local support we have had, the messages from people, has been fantastic,” he said.

“I’d also like to send big thank you to Nick, Connie and the staff at The Park, and also Anthony Taylor from The Views, for their support across the years.”

He said that understandably, most parents are biased when it comes to the talents of their children, but that he has always known that Caitlin was special.

“I always knew she was exceptional since I heard her sing,” he said.

“When all four judges on the show turned their chairs, I knew I wasn’t wrong, and also from all the comments on social media about Caitlin’s voice.”

Caitlin and Tim will perform a ticketed show, featuring a six-piece band and songs they sang on The Voice Generations, at the Melbourne Public Bar in South Wharf on March 25 and The Views in April.

In addition, Tim will play at The Park on February 18 and Caitlin on February 25. Details: call 9741 1441 to book.
