Out & About in Hobsons Bay

Hobsons Bay council is hosting a two day festival showcasing the best of Brooklyn and Altona North.

The Out & About Festival on will take place over March 4 and 5 at Paisley Park and Brooklyn Reserve.

Mayor Peter Hemphill said there will be fun and activities for those of all ages, including face painting, food trucks and live entertainment from The Mik Maks and The Voice contestant Tanya George.

“Local food trucks will be on hand to keep appetites at bay, while little ones will love having their faces painted and bigger kids can try their hand at barefoot bowls,” he said.

“There’ll also be tree giveaways and great prizes to be won, so grab a group of friends or neighbours and come and enjoy the show.”

The festival is part of Council’s Better Places program, an initiative that invites the community to tell the council what they love about the suburbs in Hobsons Bay, as well as share any ideas they have for their community in the future. There will be the opportunity for residents to chat with council officers at the festival about the project.

“We’ve had some great comments from the communities of Brooklyn and Altona North as part of our first round of Better Places consultation and the Out & About Festival will be another great opportunity to have your say while enjoying a wonderful event with your neighbours,” Cr Hemphill said.

“Come and tell us your thoughts and ideas for local amenity and environment, transport and safety and ways to connect our community. This is your home and we want to help make it an even Better Place.”
