Cameron Polson will lead Williamstown on field in the Victorian Football League this season.
The Seagulls announced that Polson would captain the side this season, following the departure of Adam Marcon, who stepped back from playing VFL.
Liam Hunt and Jake Greiser have been named Polson’s deputies.
The captain and leadership group announcement occurred on Saturday as the club launched its men’s season.
All players were on hand, with the players presented with jumpers ahead of the season kicking off on Sunday against North Melbourne.
The Seagulls have a squad of 38 players this season, with 17 new faces.
Matthew Gook, Jordan Davey, Matthew Gaul, Jack Noonan, Will Mayhood and Eren Soylemez are some of the most recent player signings announced.
Gook, Davey, Gaul and Noonan are on the primary list, with Mayhood and Soylemez placed on the development list.
Gook is a 202cm utility from Sunbury, while Davey and Gaul have both come from Essendon District Football League club Maribyrnong Park.
Noonan comes from the Williamstown CY’s in the VAFA, while goalkicker Soylemez has crossed Edithvale Aspendale.
Mayhood is a strongly built midfielder/defender from Collegians in the VAFA, having also turned out for Sydney’s VFL side in 2021.
Daniel Mott, Ben Woodfull, Jack Newitt, James Paterson, Michael Ktona, Jason Kenneth, Tom Evans and Zac Pritchard are part of an extended ‘train-on’ list and will remain train with the club as they have through pre-season.
