The Western Jets will enter the finals full of confidence after a strong win against the Eastern Ranges on Sunday.
The Jets, who haven’t lost since round one, again showed their depth and talent in the win against the finals contender in the final round of the season.
The Ranges started the better of the two sides and led by eight points at quarter time, kicking three goals to two.
The Jets then started to get into the game, kicking three goals to none to take the lead at the main break.
Another goal less quarter from the Ranges allowed the Jets to extend their margin to nearly five goals at the last break after they kicked three of their own.
Neither team was able to break away in the last quarter, with two goals apiece enough for the Jets to seal the 10.2 (62)-5.5 (35) win.
Caitlin Sargent kicked three goals in the win, while Sierra Grieves chipped in with a couple of her own. Sargent finished the regular season with 17 goals, the equal most in the competition.
The midfield duo of Charlotte Baskaran and Montana Ham were both busy, with 29 and 28 possessions respectively.
The win leaves the Jets in second spot heading into the finals.
It will be a familiar opponent for the Jets on Friday night, with the Jets to face the Ranges for a second straight week.
The two teams will play Friday night. The two teams knew heading into the final round that it would be the case.
The winner will play off the grand final the following week. Eastern Ranges will face the Geelong Falcons in the other semi final.
Sides not in finals will also play this weekend, in a consolation round to finish off their seasons.
Other final rounds winners were the Calder Cannons, Geelong Falcons, Northern Knights, Northern Territory and the Greater Western Victoria Rebels.
Meanwhile, the NAB League boys season kicks off this weekend.
The Jets are set to face the Brisbane Lions Academy on Sunday at Highgate Recreation Reserve.
In other first round matches, the Calder Cannons will face the GWS Giants, the Bendigo Pioneers will host the Greater Western Victoria Rebels, the Northern Knights will play the Sydney Swans, Dandenong Stingrays will play the Eastern Ranges, the Murray Bushrangers will play the Gippsland Power, the Sandringham Dragons will play the Oakleigh Chargers and the Geelong Falcons will play the Gold Coast Suns.
