Altona Magic had a tough day out on Saturday against Avondale in the National Premier League competition.
Hoping for a good showing against one of the top sides in the competition, the Magic were outplayed in the 3-0 loss, after trailing 2-0 at half time.
The Magic sit 10th after nine rounds with three wins. Their next match is on Anzac Day against South Melbourne.
Two second half goals were enough for Yarraville Glory to get victory against Strathmore on Saturday in FV state league 1 north-west. Neither team scored in the first half, before a penalty was converted by Lewis Shannon to put the Glory in front.
Chris Duncan doubled the lead with the Glory winning 2-0.
The win moves the Glory up to seventh. Altona City had a 2-0 loss to Caroline Springs George Cross.
In state league 2 north-west, Altona East Phoenix lost to Epping City, 3-2, while in state league north-west 3, Altona North and Williamstown both had wins.
