Police are appealing for public assistance to help find a missing man last seen in Altona Meadows.

Anastase, also known as ‘Tas’, was last seen in Roseberry Street, Altona Meadows, on Wednesday, December 8 last year.

Police were made aware of his disappearance last week by an overseas relative after the relative’s inquiries with Melbourne family and friends failed to locate Anastase.

Family and police are concerned for the 57-year-old’s welfare due to the length of time he has been missing.

Anastase is described as having a medium build, is about 175 centimetres tall and has brown hair and brown eyes.

He does not have a current licence and it’s not known where he might have gone.

It’s believed he lived a reclusive life with his mother who is currently in hospital.

Police have released a photo of Anastase in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his whereabouts.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Altona Police Station on 9392 3111.
