Yarraville community members are encouraged to have a chat and watch a movie with fellow community members as part of an upcoming Yarraville Community Centre [YCC] event.
YCC project coordinator Bettina Twyman said the group usually meets every Wednesday at 2pm.
“YCC’s Chatty Cafe started online during lockdowns and is now growing to enjoy being back face-to-face meetups over a cup of tea,” she said.
“Our focus is to provide social meetings that enable people to engage in new friendships and deeper connections with our community.”
The YCC Chatty Cafe movie day will be hosted at the Sun Theatre in Yarraville on Wednesday, June 1 from 10am and will include a morning tea and a screening of ‘The Duke’.
Ms Twyman said new faces will be welcome at the free event.
“We are a safe and inclusive space with people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures and interests,” she said.
“The Sun Theatre has organised great food, drink and trivia questions for us and have been extremely welcoming of supporting our Chatty Cafe at YCC.”
The YCC will also host a Plant with Plants day on Wednesday, June 8 from 2pm until 3pm.
