Victoria Police have put the call out for footage or information regarding an alleged spree of vehicle damage across Newport, Williamstown, Altona North and Altona Meadows.

Hobsons Bay Local Area Commander Inspector Tim O’Connor said the alleged offences occurred between Friday, May 27 and Sunday, May 29.

“About 20 cars that were parked on the street have been damaged,” he said.

Inspector O’Connor said footage allegedly showed the passenger of a silver Holden VY or VX Commodore using an object to damage the driver side mirrors.

“We’re seeking any information or CCTV that people have that they can provide to police,” he said.

“Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward so we can try to apprehend the persons involved.”

Inspector O’Connor said the alleged damage was worth thousands of dollars.

“We do not tolerate this wanton vandalism and damage to people’s property,” he said.
