Man in stable condition following Footscray incident

Footscray Victoria Police members have praised members of the public for responding swiftly to assist a man who suffered a medical condition at the Footscray train station on Tuesday, June 7.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics attended an incident in Footscray at about 5.45pm on Tuesday, June 7.

“A patient was treated at the scene and taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition,” the spokesperson said.

According to an Eyewatch – Maribyrnong Police Service Area Facebook post, members of the public came to the man’s assistance and provided initial cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR] assistance.

Protective Service Officers then took over in administering CPR and managed to revive him before Fire Rescue Service and Ambulance Victoria members arrived at the scene to treat the man and transfer him to hospital.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said the incident was allegedly drug-related.
