Bigger change rooms, club rooms and community spaces will soon be arriving to Paisley Park in Altona North among a number of upgrades across the Williamstown electorate outlined in the 2022/2023 state budget.
Williamstown MP Melissa Horne visited Paisley Park recently to announce a $500,000 investment towards upgrades to Paisley Park, which would also include more parking spaces and improved lighting equipment.
The state government has also allocated $90,000 towards the construction of a new scoreboard at K.C. White Reserve in Williamstown North and $300,000 towards the Williamstown Colts Cricket Club to upgrade the cricket nets at Greenwich Reserve in Newport.
Ms Horne said the upgrades would ensure local community members have up-to-date parks and sports grounds to visit.
“Williamstown is a wonderful place to live, with great local parks and community sports grounds,” she said.
“With upgrades to Greenwich Reserve, Paisley Park and K.C. White Reserve, we’re making it even better.”
In terms of general infrastructure for the Williamstown electorate, the state government also committed a further $1 million towards the installation of fenders on Gem Pier in Williamstown to create extra protection for boats and people looking to use the pier.
The budget has also outlined a $200,000 investment for the continuation of the Westgate Punt ferry service, which connects cyclists in Spotswood with Port Melbourne.
