Hobsons Bay creative artists, painters and performance artists are encouraged to submit their artworks for consideration in this year’s Woods Street Youth Art Prize.
Young artists aged 14 to 25 years of age who study, live, work, or have a connection to the inner and western suburbs of Melbourne are eligible to submit a piece.
Artworks can be, 2D, 3D, film or performance art.
The art prize aims to enable young people to showcase their creative talents, build confidence in exhibiting their work and provides opportunities to build a professional, creative network.
The prizes available for this year’s winners include:
Open category (winner) – $1000;
Open category (runner-up) – $500;
Hobsons Bay Artist – $500;
Artist Encouragement Award (under 20) – $200;
Artist Encouragement Award (over 20) – $200; and
People’s Choice Award – $400.
Selected artworks will be exhibited at the Woods Street Arts Space in Laverton as part of the Woods Street Youth Art Prize exhibition from Friday, November 4 to Saturday, November 19.
Expressions of interest will close at 3pm on Monday, September 12, with awards presented on Friday, November 11.
