Victoria Police have arrested a 24-year-old Footscray man following an alleged assault in Carlton on Monday, August 22.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said police also arrested a 26-year-old Tarneit man, a 20-year-old Collingwood man, a 20-year-old Dandenong North man and a 23-year-old Fitzroy man following the alleged assault.
“Police responded to reports of an assault on Lygon Street about 11pm, where two men were allegedly assaulted and threatened with knives,” the spokesperson said.
“Investigators were told the offenders fled the scene in a vehicle.
“The vehicle was located at the intersection of Dryburgh Street and Arden Street in North Melbourne a short time later.”
The men have been assisting police with their inquiries.
