Seddon residents are encouraged to share their hopes and dreams for the community to support the development of Maribyrnong council’s draft Seddon Neighbourhood Plan, which will build on the 2010 Seddon Urban Design Framework.
Seddon’s population is forecast to continue to grow by a further 30 per cent by 2051, with the plan aiming to accommodate for this increase in terms of housing and associated amenities.
The plan will also outline improvements to publicly accessible spaces, such as streets, squares, parks and open spaces.
Maribyrnong mayor Anthony Tran said the hope of the review of Seddon’s plan is to retain the suburb’s “small town vibe”, while allowing for its growth.
“More people will ultimately mean more changes to both the landscape and streetscape,” he said.
“To help plan for Seddon’s future needs, we want to understand how you would like to see it grow and develop.
“When formulating your vision think about things like the character of the area, how you want to move around it, how you would like to relax/recreate and the spaces you might want to see developed.”
Seddon residents are also urged to nominate a preferred location for the establishment of a new public toilet block being delivered under the Maribyrnong Public Toilet Plan.
Community consultation on the plan closes at 5pm on Sunday, September 11.
