Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have joined forces with Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives to investigate a number of aggravated burglaries Maribyrnong and Altona North, which saw a 31-year-old Altona North woman charged with a number of offences.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said four offenders attended a property on Hillside Avenue in Maribyrnong at about 3am on Thursday, August 25, where car keys for a Mercedes Benz were allegedly stolen.
“They fled the scene in the vehicle, also stealing the victim’s wallet, bank cards and horse racing equipment which were inside the car,” the spokesperson said.
A spokesperson said police have alleged four offenders forced open a garage door on Woodruff Avenue in Maribyrnong at about 12.30am on Friday, August 26 and stole two sets of car keys.
“Two of the offenders fled the scene in a Kia Carnival, stolen from the address,” the spokesperson said.
“The other two offenders fled the scene on foot and were arrested by police.”
A spokesperson said alleged two male offenders gained entry to a property on Millers Road in Altona North, where they stole multiple backpacks which contained bank cards.
“The cards were later used in a series of fraudulent transactions across Melbourne,” the spokesperson.
Police have allegedly charged a 31-year-old Altona North woman with a number of alleged offences, including handling stolen goods, making false documents, obtaining property by deception and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.
She has been bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 10.
