The Seaworks Workshops Pier would be re-opened if Labor wins the state election on Saturday, November 26.
Williamstown MP Melissa Horne visited the pier on Wednesday, November 16 to announce a $6 million commitment towards repairing the pier.
As reported by Star Weekly, Workshop Pier was closed to vehicle access in September 2020 following the collapse of a section of Boyd Jetty, while Commissioners Jetty also stopped operating as a berthing facility at the same time because of “structural issues” and Parks Victoria recommended Seaworks close Workshop Pier to pedestrians based on recommendations in a draft engineering report about the safety of the pier.
Ms Horne said the investment would return more activity to the precinct.
“Supporting the restoration of this Williamstown landmark to a safe, accessible and modern pier will bring benefits for locals, visitors and tourism in the precinct,” she said.
