Labor MP retains Williamstown as part of Andrews government victory

Williamstown Labor MP Melissa Horne has retained the seat of Williamstown despite a 9.55 per cent swing against Labor in the electorate.

Ms Horne received 62.52 per cent of the two-candidate preferred votes, with 20,771 votes, while Liberal candidate for Williamstown Daria Kellander received 12,452 two-candidate preferred votes (37.48 per cent).

Ms Horne secured 13,849 first preference votes (41.65 per cent), while Ms Kellander received 9481 first preference votes (28.51 per cent), Greens candidate Suzette Rodoreda obtained 4951 first preference votes (14.89 per cent) and Victorian Socialists candidate Julien Q. Macandili received 1432 first preference votes (4.31 per cent).

In a Facebook post, Ms Horne said she was looking forward to working for the Williamstown electorate over the coming four-year term.

“It’s been an honour to serve you for the last four years, and I can’t wait to continue to work hard for you for the next four,” she said.
