Williamstown has added some more experience to its Victorian Football League Women’s squad for next season.
The Seagulls announced three new signings last week, all with VFLW experience.
Nicole Julian crosses to the Seagulls from the VFLW premiers Essendon, where she played 12 games this year.
The club said Julian was another great signing for next year under new coach Liam Cavanagh.
“A dashing half back, Julian will slot in perfectly in the blue and gold outfit with her explosiveness off the half back flank and finding herself on the wing when needed,” it said in its announcement.
“Playing 32 games at VFLW-level, Julian knows the ins and outs of the competition and exactly what it takes to build a strong side in the league.”
Ellie Huggard crosses from the Western Bulldogs. She played three games for the Bulldogs this season.
She was previously granted a train on spot for the Bulldogs’ AFLW side.
“Huggard also dominated at local level finishing in the top five in her league’s best and fairest after only playing nine games,” the Seagulls announcement said.
Phoebe Chisholm is hoping to add to her fourth VFLW games as she crosses to the Seagulls.
She played one game for the Bulldogs this year after three with Carlton last year. Chisholm has also been part of the Northern Knights program previously.
The signings come following the announcements of Sydney Swans AFLW players Bridie Kennedy and Aliesha Newman, which were announced last month.
The Seagulls have also announced a number of other signings in recent weeks.
Mikayla Meyer, who played 12 games for the Darebin Falcons joins the club and is expected to have an impact on the wing and coaches looking forward to seeing her run and carry.
Teagan Brett and Mia Muscat have followed Cavanagh across from Coburg.
Brett, who has been on Richmond’s and Carlton’s VFLW lists, won the South East Women’s premier division leading goalkicker award this year.
Muscat is known for her elite speed and was runner-up in Coburg’s best and fairest this year.
