Altona North Primary School’s Grade 5 and 6 cohort has shown off skills in using robots to overcome challenges at the school’s annual robotics expo.
Held on Thursday, November 24, the event involved 39 students showcasing the skills they have accumulated since starting to learn about the powers of robotics in Prep.
Grade 5 and 6 teacher Jessica Duffy said this year’s theme was ‘The Robo Games’, which involved the students designing tracks with ramps, tunnels and different levels.
“Students worked immensely hard in a collaborative group across the year to plan, build, and program various innovative robots,” she said.
“Students had to draft and design a unique mission where the robot had to be victorious and overcome challenges or obstacles.”
Guests and fellow students voted on their favourite display with Hussein, Lachlan and Kham’s design taking out the day with their artistic volcano and jungle design.
