The Druids left it to the final ball to secure the points against Yarraville Club on Sunday in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.
The Druids needed three runs of the final ball to beat the Clubbers with Brad McMaster on strike.
A six proved to be the perfect way to bring up the win.
Earlier the Clubbers had made 7-151 from their overs. Sangaran Nandhalal top scored with 52 top scored for the Clubbers
Andrew Brennan took four wickets for the Druids.
The Druids started well with the bat before losing 4-26 to slip to 4-66. The Druids were able to settle and take the game into the final over.
McMaster’s six would see his side finish 7-151. Ben Wilson top scored with 46.
James Damjanovski finished with four wickets for the Clubbers.
Brennan said it was a pretty exciting feeling for the club to win in that fashion.
“It was a fanastic win,” he said. “It was very nerve-wracking few moments.
“Brad has played a lot of cricket and we thought he could get the job done. He had nerves of steals.
“We thought it would more likely be a four than a six as there hadn’t been mane sixes for the whole innings.
Both the Druids and the Clubbers finished the double header weekend with one win each.
On Saturday, the Druids lost to Westmeadows.
The Druids were bowled out for 164 on the final ball.
Brennan top scored with 36. Donovan Pell and Jackson Smith took three wickets each for the Warriors.
The Warriors managed to just get across the line, finishing 9-165.
Pell top scored with 30 at the top of the order.
Brennan said it was pretty important for the side to get the win against the Clubbers, having dropped the game against the Warriors.
The Druids sit ninth with two wins after six rounds.
Brennan said they weren’t too far away from getting a few more wins on the board.
“There are no sides that are easy beats,” he said. ” We have been in every game and we’re had a lot of chances, we just haven’t been able to to stay together for the full 40 overs.”
The Druids has received a surprise boost with Michael Hay returning to the side.
“That was unexpected and helps compliment the batting order,” he said.
“He ruptured his ACL, but isn’t getting surgery until towards the end of the season. Hopefully he can help us get a few more wins on the board.”
The Druids face Aberfeldie and Haig Fawkner before the Christmas break.
Brennan said they were hoping to get one if not two wins from those two matches.
Meanwhile, the Clubbers beat Sunshine United in their Saturday clash.
