Maribyrnong council has conducted an initial assessment into damage sustained over the weekend of Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11.

Maribyrnong chief executive Celia Haddock said the damage impacted bike parking hoops and concrete planter boxes at the Clarke Street Pop-UP Park in West Footscray.

“The area was immediately blocked off with temporary bollards and tape,” she said.

“An assessment has been undertaken, including an investigation into additional safety measures for the site.

“Initial repair works to reinstate the bike parking and planter boxes will commence next week.”
