Police seeking man in relation to theft and deception offences

Police released images of a man in relation to a number of theft deception incidents in Yarraville, Kingsville and Footscray earlier this month.

Police believe the man stole a number of items from a car in Newcastle Street in Yarraville on Sunday, January 8 about 4.15pm.

Police said the man then used the victim’s credit card at a service station in Footscray, a milk bar and fast food store in Kingsville and a service station in Little River.

Detectives have also released images of the man exiting and entering a BMW X4 with stolen registration plates.

The driver of the car is Caucasian in appearance, about 19 years old, about 180 centimetres tall with a medium build and brown hair with a long rattail and was wearing a white Rip Curl T-shirt, grey track pants and blue Nike TNs at the time of the offences.

Police said BMW X4 was then involved in a incident in Kilsyth in the eastern suburbs on Monday, January 9.

Police have been following up reports the BMW’s headlights were seen flashing before the driver drove towards two pedestrians and then quickly swerved away at the last minute.

Two rear seat passengers then got out of the car and threatened the pedestrians before they jumped back in and were last seen driving away on Paramount Avenue, police said.
